Welcome to the 2023 Advent Calendar.
2023 is all about colour and building the advent calendar which suits you best. Start with mini skeins, decide if you want to add some neutral yarn too, then add a project bag and treats if that's what you'd like.
Let's start with the yarn base.
The advent yarns will all be dyed onto our Yorkshire spun BFL nylon base. The yarn is superwash treated and it's a 4ply / fingering weight with 400 meters to each 100 grams.
Mini skeins
Mini skeins are at the heart of our advent calendar. If you'd like to know what you're getting you can see a teaser, hint or the actual mini skeins - or you can keep the whole thing as a surprise.
You will receive 24 x 20 gram mini skeins (that's 480g and 1920m of yarn).
We're happy to wrap and number each mini skein for you, but if you'd prefer less packaging that's great - we'll tie your mini skeins together with a ribbon instead.
As always you'll receive a postcard showing all of the colours, making it easy to plan your project.
Patterns
There are no patterns included with the advent calendars - but we're teaming up with the lovely Nancy from Yarn Database to bring you some suggestions. These will cover knitting and crochet and both mini skein sizes. If you'd like one of these patterns you can buy it. We'll also be collecting ideas from designers who have suitable patterns and these will be emailed when we dispatch your parcel.
Packaging
Advent calendars will be posted in sturdy cardboard boxes.
Postage
All advent calendars will be sent using tracked postage. Prices include UK postage. Postage for everywhere else is a flat £15 which means we're covering some of the postage costs for most overseas orders.
Dispatch Dates
We’ll be looking to post advent calendars in the week commencing 16th October 2023 – and we’ll have everything ready by mid September so if there are issues with the postal system we can send orders earlier. Why mid September? Because we’ll be exhibiting at Yarndale (as The Unruly Stitch) at the end of September and we’d like to get this squared away first
