Each kit contains enough yarn to make one pair of socks, and a digital download pattern. The code and link for the pattern are on the back of the ball band. Digital pattern downloads are managed by Payhip, so you always have access to your file.
A simple pair of socks worked from the top-down. Easy enough for a first-timer, this pattern marries a basic sock pattern with lots of mini-skein striping for added fun. The ends from the stripes are worked in as-you-go, to avoid having to weave them all in at the end. Of course, you can keep life simpler by making your socks from a single skein of yarn – this pattern will still work for you!
100% British Whitefaced Woodland. The wool comes from UK flocks and is processed and spun in Yorkshire.
Approximately 140g / 420m per kit
100g / 300m of main colour and 40g / 120m of contrast colours
This yarn has not been super wash treated. Hand wash only.
Each kit contains the Main Colour and eight Contrast Colours. There are equal amounts of the Contrast Colours, so you can use them in whatever order you would like. Each kit contains enough contrast colour yarn to work the wide stripes on a pair of socks in the largest size at the correct tension, plus a margin of 10% - so you can choose to work the wide or narrow stripes, or mix things up and do a sock of each.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
2.75 mm/UK 12/US 2 set of 4 double pointed needles or size needed to obtain correct tension.
2 stitch markers.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
32 stitches and 40 rounds to 10 cm/4” over unblocked stocking stitch in the round.
Socks last longest (and are most comfortable) when worked to a tight tension. The specified tension should produce a fabric that still has plenty of stretch (not too tight), yet will wear well.
Small (Medium, Large)
Sock circumference: 18 (20, 22) cm/7.25 (8, 8.75 )”
Measure around the arch of your foot and select the sock circumference size which is 2 cm/0.75 ” smaller than the measurement of your arch. This ensures that you end up with a sock which fits your foot snuggly.
You are buying the kit which allows you to knit the socks shown, not the socks themselves. This kit does not include a printed pattern.
