A big skein of Raincloud and mini skeins in Colour Makes Me Happy. Sometimes getting to play with colour is the best job in the world.
We’ve added new mini skein collections in our One Farm Yarn base to the shop this week. There’s enough in each set to make a decent sized shawl. This is one of my favourite yarns for colourwork – as the yarn hasn’t been superwash treated the texture of the wool is slightly grippier, and this helps colourwork changes stay nicely in place (if you’ve ever tried colour work with a slippery yarn you’ll know exactly what I mean)
Colour Pop Lime – so a fade and then a splash of colour which would make a great edging for a shawl or mittens.
Frosty and Festive mini skeins – there’s something about red and green which says holiday season to me.
Gelato and Ice mini skeins – possibly more relevant for the other side of the world where it’s getting warmer rather than cooler right now. But ice cream is good at any time of the year. These mini skeins really pop when paired with a dark colour like black.
Hydrangea Bouquet. All of the pretty colours, perfect for a scarf to brighten up a winter coat.
Natural Beauty mini skeins. There are so many colours in nature, but there’s something about the way that browns combine that makes me especially happy. These work beautyifully with a pop of bright colour like Wisteria.
Ocean Depths mini skeins. Blues and greens go so well together, and these could be paired with a black or wisteria for some extra colour pop.
Superhero Genes mini skeins might just be my perfect fade combination. All the colours of a par of jeans that have been loved well, so the only place you’ll find the dark colour left is ticked up in the seams.
The Blues Can Be Happy Too mini skeins. I’m very tempted to pair these with the Superhero Genes set above for a project that’s all blue.
