There’s lots of new yarn in the shop this week including a couple of new to us bases . Let’s start with them.

Our new tweed base is available in both 4ply and DK. The the yarn is 100% British BFL and it’s processed and spun in Yorkshire.

More details – 4ply yarn has 350 meters to each 100 gram skein while the DK has 230meters to each 100 gram skein. These yarns haven’t been superwash treated so should be hand washed unless you want to make felt.

This isn’t a yarn we’d recommend for socks – the combination of a soft spin which gives loft and bounce with the 100% BFL isn’t going to wear well.

This yarn is going to be glorious in shawls, mitts, hats and garments.

The DK is dyed in the same colours and you can find it here.

Next up is a selection of semi solid colours in our BFL nylon yarn. It’s lovely to have this base back in stock, and it means that all the processing and spinning for our yarns happens in the UK. Fewer miles travelled is better for the environment, and it’s lovely to be able to buy this from another Yorkshire business.

There are lots more colours too and you’ll find them all here.

Finally for this update there’s something new. Stripey Stripes. Stripey Stripes are short lengths of our self striping sock yarn so you get two 10 meter lengths – that’s how long a dye repeat is so you can add a multicoloured stripe to socks or mitts. Stripey Stripes come wound onto a card meaning we can post them as large letter post. They’re a great way to liven up stash yarns and as each set is £5 they make a great little gift too. If you’d like to send these as a present leave us a note at checkout so we can leave out the invoice and pop a gift card in instead. Find them here.

The links will take you to the right section of the shop – and as always if you want to see all of the new yarns at once you can find them in the NEW section.

I’d love to know what your favourite is from everything that’s new this week – leave me a comment and let me know.
