I’m a big fan of this yarn – it’s a 100% British BFL which is processed and spun in Yorkshire, so it’s racked up very few miles before it got to us.
DK and thicker yarns traditionally don’t do so well in hand dyed yarn, and I suspect a lot of that comes down to cost. Thicker yarns have fewer meters to each 100 gram skein, and that means more skeins are needed.
A 100 gram skein will make a hat or fingerless mitts or a simple cowl
Two 100 gram skeins will let you make a longer cowl which can be wrapped round your neck twice. I love that style of cowl if I’m going in and out of places – it makes it easy to cool down quickly without having to take things off and carry them.
It’s almost impossible to give yarn requirements for garments – it varies by style, size and stitch pattern. Something fitted and short uses way less yarn than a loose slouchy sweater which stops below your hips.
