It struck me that I hadn’t dyed any of the Superhero colours onto our new British BFL nylon sock base

I love the combination of black and blue which makes up this colour – and I decided it would be fun to dye batches with different intensities so the colours went from light to dark.

This means there are four new superhero genes colours.

Phantom Blue Superhero Genes.

TheSuperhero Genes name for these colours come from my lovely friend Scully, and are inspired by her brother Adam who died in 2019. Scully and her mum have asked that money raised from this yarn goes to Jeans for Genes Day.

Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder.

Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.

We’ll be donating 50% of the purchase price of these yarns to Genetic Disorders UK. The remaining 50% covers the yarn costs, VAT, tax and dye costs. In turn that means we can make more of these yarns available and hopefully raise more money for this charity.

If you’d like to donate to Jeans for Genes Day you can do so here

These yarns will be in the shop at 1900 UK time on Thursday 27th May.
